Sunday & Monday

A Wind Chill Advisory is in effect for Eastern Iowa through 11 a.m. on Sunday. That being said, this afternoon will be warmer with highs in the teens and 20s with a partly cloudy sky. Wind chills this afternoon will rise into the single digits above zero. Late tonight snow and wintry mix will begin to move into the area from the south with lows in the teens. Therefore, a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for our far southern counties beginning late Sunday night and continuing through Monday morning. The wintry mix could extend to our central zone and Highway 30 by the Monday morning commute. Therefore, you’ll need to be extra cautious as you head to work on Monday morning. The wintry mix should exit the area by late Monday morning, ushering in a mostly cloudy Monday afternoon with highs in the low to mid-30s.

Monday Night & Beyond

The wintry mix, freezing rain, and snow will begin again Monday night and encompass the entire area by Tuesday morning. Ice developing on roadways and surfaces will be possible with this system. Even though wintry precipitation will cause travel problems this week, we’ll at least get to enjoy some warmer temperatures with highs in the low to mid-30s Monday and into next weekend.
