Car erupts in flames, killing two on Tonkin Highway in Gosnells

A car has burst into flames on a Perth highway after hitting a tree, killing two young men.

WA Police were called to reports of a car on fire on Tonkin Highway near the Albany Highway exit in Gosnells about 2.10am on Sunday.

“It appears the vehicle left the road and hit a tree before catching alight,” police told 7NEWS.com.au.

Paramedics and fire and rescue also attended the crash, however, the occupants of the red Mazda CX-7 SUV, two men aged in their 20s, were declared dead at the scene, according to police.

Police say investigators are currently working to identify the victims.
