Door open for West Ham to sign Chelsea star in late deadline day deal after Ornstein’s new claim

The door has potentially just been swung wide open for West Ham to sign Chelsea star in late deadline day deal after David Ornstein’s new claim.

The West Ham United fans will be desperately praying for one final deadline day deal before tonight’s 11pm cut-off.

The January transfer window has been a difficult one for the Hammers, with David Moyes only having brought Kalvin Phillips to the London Stadium thus far.

The Scot is still yet to sign the forward that he so desperately wants, and Armando Broja is someone who’s been on his radar for quite some time now, but Chelsea’s £50 million valuation of the 22-year-old put paid to our hopes of signing him.

However, a fresh update today from David Ornstein suggests that the Chelsea striker is now there for the taking, if Moyes does in fact want to bring him to the London Stadium…

Ornstein took to his official X account this morning to provide an update on Broja’s future at Stamford Bridge.

And it seems as though the Hammers will now be able to sign him on deadline day on a loan deal of our choosing:

If this is indeed true, then what is Moyes waiting for? He quite simply has to get this deal done – Broja would be absolutely perfect for us.

He possesses impressive technical ability and is always willing to run the channels – something that is crucial for a striker in Moyes’s system.

Crucially though, the Albania international is a far better finisher than Michail Antonio, and he would take us to another level entirely in my opinion.

The thought of Broja leading the line in between Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen and just in front of Lucas Paqueta is a really exciting one.

Whether West Ham are able to get a deadline day deal for the Chelsea striker over the line before 11pm tonight remains to be seen though.
