Horror as man killed at boarding house

Homicide detectives have descended on a boarding house in inner Melbourne after a man was reportedly stabbed.

Police and paramedics rushed to the residence on Beckett Street in Kew at about 10am on Monday morning after hearing reports a man was injured.

They arrived to find a man, who is yet to be identified, suffering injuries.

He died at the scene.

NCA Newswire understands the man was stabbed.

A 56-year-old Kew man known to the deceased man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

He remains under police guard in hospital and investigations remain ongoing.
