Police investigating after two-month-old baby dies in Alfredton

“I ran down just to see what was happening … I could see that something had happened to the little [child] down the road,” she said.

“The mum was just screaming something had happened, and just crying and yelling.

“Me and the neighbour tried to help him, but unfortunately, we were not able to resuscitate him.”

Walker said the two-month-old was a “beautiful baby” who was placid and happy whenever she saw him, and described his parents as friendly and quiet.

“[The baby was] very cute, such beautiful eyes and just such a gorgeous little boy,” Walker said. “They’re just nice people, so it’s just a shame that it’s happened to them.”

Police tape was up around the property on Sunday as officers continued their investigation.

Neighbour Karan Singh told Nine News she always said hello to the young family when they crossed paths, and Saturday night’s tragedy was scary and depressing.

“It’s shocking … they were pretty happy [as a family]. Never had an issue with them.”
