Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reach out to Royal Family over Kate Middleton’s health

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly reached out to the Royal Family to offer their support amid Kate Middleton’s surgery. Kate underwent abdominal surgery earlier this week and is now back at home, resting, and has cleared her diary until the spring.

A source close to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex has now revealed that the pair have passed on their concerns. A source has told the Mirror: “The King and the Princess of Wales have received support from Prince Harry and Meghan regarding their health.

“The Duke and Duchess contacted both parties in different ways to pass on their concern and best wishes.” Royal expert and commentator Phil Dampier said Harry’s failure to allude to Kate and his father King Charles, who underwent prostate treatment this week, while at an event in the US last week showed the royals are “further apart than ever”.

He said: “It’s possible that Harry and Meghan have sent good wishes in private but you would have thought Harry would have taken the public opportunity to wish both his father and sister-in-law well. He must know that people are wondering whether he’s been in touch and therefore you’d imagine he would take the chance to make it clear that he is supporting them.”

At the British Army event, Harry was with John Travolta, who he teased about dancing with his mother, the late Princess Diana, back in the eighties. “That’s nice,” Harry – who shares two children with former Suits actress Meghan – said.

“Thanks very much, Captain John. I was one year old when you danced with my mum.” The Duke of Sussex went on: “As you’ve told everybody here and continue to dine out on that probably every single night.

“But look at us now. It’s great. So if we’re not going to dance together, we’ll fly together.”
