O’SULLIVAN WINS THE WORLD GRAND PRIX FINAL 10-7

He clears up the colours to take the crown after being 4-0 down in the opening half session. Thanks for following all the action with us tonight.

O’SULLIVAN 9-7 TRUMP (57-40)

O’Sullivan with a great yellow, using the brown for position on the green.

O’SULLIVAN 9-7 TRUMP (52-40)

Trump does brilliantly to get the last red off the cushion but he cannot pot the yellow so the frame is still alive.

O’SULLIVAN 9-7 TRUMP (52-5)

A magnificent long green now has Trump in position to build a big break.

O’SULLIVAN 9-7 TRUMP (52-1)

A fine half-century break but having to go in and out of baulk he just missed a pot into the bottom red pocket.

O’SULLIVAN 9-7 TRUMP (8-1)

O’Sullivan misses a long pot by a mile but it flies back down into the bottom left pocket and now he has a chance to win it.

O’SULLIVAN 9-7 TRUMP (0-1)

A dead weight red leaving himself on the black from Trump but the colour stayed in the jaws. It doesn’t appear he has left anything on though.

O’SULLIVAN 9-7 TRUMP

We have a potential classic finish on our hands the way Trump is playing. A confidence-building break of 70 ends the frame.

O’SULLIVAN 9-6 TRUMP (0-76)

Trump is over the line now. A great frame from him.

O’SULLIVAN 9-6 TRUMP (0-35)

A remarkable shot to nothing plant from Trump but he has no position and rolls the ball behind the green. He is playing so well at present.

O’SULLIVAN 9-6 TRUMP (0-31)

A tidy break of 31 and he ends it on his terms with a safety.

O’SULLIVAN 9-6 TRUMP (0-1)

A great long pot from Trump gets him on the board. Every shot is under so much pressure now though.

O’SULLIVAN 9-6 TRUMP (0-0)

Trump is in a snooker from the break but gets out of it safely.

O’SULLIVAN 9-6 TRUMP

…And O’Sullivan clears up to go one frame away from victory.

O’SULLIVAN 8-6 TRUMP (50-62)

The green wiped its feet but then the brown stopped in the jaws…

O’SULLIVAN 8-6 TRUMP (50-57)

Trump could only see a fraction of the red and it was enough to pot it and he now looks set to win the frame.

O’SULLIVAN 8-6 TRUMP (50-51)

Two misses from O’Sullivan but Trump opts to take a tricky red down the cushion with a rest and jaws it once more. Though the black obscured the pot. O’Sullivan swerved to pot it and then left a snooker on the final red.

O’SULLIVAN 8-6 TRUMP (45-43)

O’Sullivan gets in front but runs out of position.

O’SULLIVAN 8-6 TRUMP (30-43)

What a mistake! Trump misses clipping a red fine and leaves a free ball. This might be the chance O’Sullivan needs.

O’SULLIVAN 8-6 TRUMP (26-43)

O’Sullivan just misses with an attempt to move reds off the cushion and the frame is still in the balance.

O’SULLIVAN 8-6 TRUMP (0-43)

A fantastic, brave break but he misses a pink to middle and now gives an opportunity to the Rocket to punish him.

O’SULLIVAN 8-6 TRUMP (0-7)

An incredible red from Trump and he follows it up with a pink to middle with awkward bridging. If he is going down he will go down going for his shots.

O’SULLIVAN 8-6 TRUMP

That is a heartbreaker for Trump.

O’SULLIVAN 7-6 TRUMP (51-48)

It was a brilliant break and great positional shot to get in behind the black, but he hit the near cushion before the pocket, leaving the ball in the jaws.

O’SULLIVAN 7-6 TRUMP (51-28)

Just like that…Trump finds his groove and now needs the colours to win. The black is on the bottom cushion though.

O’SULLIVAN 7-6 TRUMP (51-6)

Trump can only garner six before falling out of position and then missing into the middle pocket.

O’SULLIVAN 7-6 TRUMP (51-0)

O’Sullivan leaves himself a tricky red but er… rockets it home into the bottom left corner and powers the yellow into the middle. He looks irrepressible now….but then he misses a fairly easy red. What a strange game this is.

O’SULLIVAN 7-6 TRUMP (25-0)

The momentum continues. O’Sullivan is given a chance and is back piling up a score again.

O’SULLIVAN 7-6 TRUMP

Can Trump get back momentum. He didn’t score a point in that first frame after the interval.

O’SULLIVAN 6-6 TRUMP (56-0)

Another good long pot sets up a chance which will surely put O’Sullivan over the line.

O’SULLIVAN 6-6 TRUMP (52-0)

After a break of 57, Trump fails to get the last red off the cushion and then a poor safety gives O’Sullivan a chance with the last red – which he takes.

O’SULLIVAN 5-6 TRUMP (30-8)

Another in-off! How many today. O’Sullivan pocketed the black but then went into the pack and a red drifted into the middle pocket – where Ronnie has missed so many pots.

O’SULLIVAN 5-6 TRUMP (20-0)

Trump misses another long pot and O’Sullivan us back at the table.

O’SULLIVAN 5-6 TRUMP (19-0)

Potting into the middle pocket has been O’Sullivan’s weakness today and he misses another ending a break but doesn’t leave a chance on.

O’SULLIVAN 5-6 TRUMP (1-0)

O’Sullivan left Trump a tempting long pot into the bottom right pocket but he misses and now O’Sulllivan is on the table. Just 43% long pot percentage from Trump today.

O’SULLIVAN 5-6 TRUMP

A break of 74 gives the Rocket the frame. Like O’Sullivan, Trump isn’t interested playing for snookers when he needs multiple one.

O’SULLIVAN 4-6 TRUMP (36-0)

He seemed to have fell out of position but a cannon which receives a roar of approval from the fans keeps the break on track.

O’SULLIVAN 3-6 TRUMP (58-0)

Once more on the cusp of a frame, things go wrong. O’Sullivan left himself a tough red to middle and misses it. He leaves nothing on though.

Trump allows O’Sullivan a chance to make a sizeable break with a number of well-placed reds.

O’SULLIVAN 3-6 TRUMP

Trump leaves green over the pocket but O’Sullivan then misses the brown into the middle and Trump pots it to take a gruelling frame.

O’SULLIVAN 3-5 TRUMP (42-66)

Just the colours away from a massive frame to win – but he lost position on the green – but then he produces a magnificent snooker. This is the standard we were hoping for.

O’SULLIVAN 3-5 TRUMP (20-66)

O’Sullivan with a magnificent long pot cutting into the bottom right corner pocket and he has a chance to steal it.

O’SULLIVAN 3-5 TRUMP

Trump gets the evening session underway.

1855 – THE EIGHTH FRAME COULD PROVE KEY

Had Trump gone into the evening frame 6-2 up it would have been tough to beat the ‘Ace in the Pack’, but at 5-3 it is a far more manageable endeavour.
